Default 21" on FLHX, what suspension mods to level bike?

I want to put a 21" front wheel on the bike but I'm thinking the bike should stay level after it's on. Since the front gets raised, should I skip doing any rear suspension mods and only lower the front? Lots of people here with 21's, hope you guys can give me some pointers on the switch! Thanks in advance!

PS - Any big draw backs in rideability when doing this change?

the suspension is not level at stock; the SG shocks aree 12 vs 13 on the other touring model. Put the 21 on ride it for a while -- you many not want to lower the front at all.

If you do lower the front 1 inch no need to lower the rear

It could be fine for you without lowering it. I know I had to lower both the front and back 1" when I installed my 21" Front / 18" Rear setup due to the fact I am only 5" 11". Without lowering will raise the center of gravity, but for me it was a reaching the ground matter in deciding to lower.

Lowered the front 1" using harleys kit.I didn't at first and it just looked awkward to me.

Leave the rear end alone and lower the front end 1" either with HD lowering kit, Progressive lowering kit or Race Tech, with my preference being the latter. I'm not sure about the looks but it will handle much better with the front end lowered. Yep I've ridden em both ways

Thanks guys I think I'll lower it 1" using Progressives stuff as I've always had good luck with them. I may end up trying the new air adjustable rears just for fun. Will call them to see if they recommend it even if using it in the stock position mostly.

FLHGLIDE, keep us posted your lowering project and the results. I am interested in hearing result of the air ride.
