Not sure if this is the best place for this question but here goes.
I'm looking at a 04 Road King Custom with fuel injection.
Real clean bike, completely stock, about 4,000 miles.
I noticed under the heat shield the pipes are very discolored all the way to the mufflers. Mostly a goldish color with a little blue.
The heat shields are still a nice chrome.
Is there anything to worry about this discoloration?
Has the engine not been tuned properly etc...

Since the bike is completely stock it is running rather lean which is the cause of the discoloring of the pipes. Get it, and get a stage one including pipes, air cleaner and some sort of tuner. All Harley's are lean when they are stock due to epa regulations.

Will be picking it up in a week and will do the stage 1 asap.
