Default Heated Grips Switch peeling off (any fixes)?

I guess this is a cheeezeee setup as these have about 2K on them and the siwtch cover or end cap is peeling off. I tried to glue it but nothing sticks to the rubber. Has this happened to anyone else? Anyone know if just that part is available? If not a lof of money down the drain...........

if it was a harley part installed by harley, then it should be something that they'll repair or replace. if it's an aftermarket thing that you and bill down the street installed, then you're on your own.

Not aftermarket its HD and not cheap. It was installed by the dealer but doubtful that they would cover it. I spoke with the dealer who installed it back in late 05 , the bike has 3400 miles on it and has been kept in a controlled climate. Dealer just laughed as I suspected he would.

He did say "well we could just sell you the left handgrip assy for $166" but you would be better off buying the complete set for only a few $$ more. This is a BS design and I'm at the point where I would be happy just to be able to glue the end cap back on and is I loose use of the switch so be it. Problem is I do not know what kind of glue to use? So far I have tried super glue as well as barge cement, neither worked.

I would hate to peel off the rest of the end cap to see what is exactly under it so I'm wondering if anyone ever had the cap completey off and if so can I apply the glue under the whole cap?
