Thanks for the suggestions.
Decision made, everything going to the painter on Tuesday..
Going with a black base coat and two set's of ghost flames, one being the stock pewter (so that I can leave the inner fairing as is, if possible) and the other a set of brandywine flames. Flames crossing..Flames on front fender, fairing, tank, side covers and sides of bags. everything else solid black.
Oh, and nixing the Fatboy fender. i just purchased this front fender instead

Your bike looks better plain pewter than with a flame job......it's your call but you will be the 12 billionth Harley with Ghost flames.

you could use your pewter pearl as your base coat and add a killer flame job over the top of it. something that might fade from like a candy red, then through the color spectrum ending up with blue flame tips. and a bit of shadowing that makes the flames appear that they're floating about an inch above the surface. i'd be doing that in a heartbeat. if you ever saw what i'm describing, you'd be flipped out, it's way too cool. especially with long slim flame tails. very sleek indeed. that's what i would do, then you could leave the inner fairing etc. too. i can imagine that color scheme in my head now. i painted my 24 dodge coupe very similar but over a dove gray pearl base coat. looked killer. still got the dodge but i've painted it a few times since.

keep us posted on your progress, the tuesday clock is a tickin. can't wait to see what you end up with, and sure hope you're happy with whatever you decide. it'd be almost like getting married, a commitment of sorts. something that is expensive to do, therefore even if you're not 100% happy you're sorta stuck with it. my idea is that obviously you have a great eye for detail, so you'll figure out exactly what you want, and it will absolutely knock our sock off. take lots of pics and post them.
