For the last 8,000 miles I've been running SE Touring mufflers with a MOCO Stage I AC & remap on my 07 EGC, which now has 20,000 + miles on it. The muffs have gotten louder since I put them on. As a matter of fact, they're loud enough that I'm considering going back to the stock muffs. If I make the switch without changing the Stage I AC or remap, how will this affect the engine? Will it run richer/leaner, hotter/cooler, more/less torque? For financial reasons I'd like to not have to do another remap. Thanks in advance for you help.
I would not think it would run richer or leaner. Because you are not changing any thing on the intake side. Maybe a little hotter because the stock mufflers are not as free flowing as the SE. And probably lose a little HP/torque.
dont think youll see any noticable differnc it may a slight bit ritcher (wich is good for cooling) but temps will probably be a break even do to the restrictive stock muffs.
