I am amazed that after a zillion posts no one mensioned "long sleeved shirts". 100% cotton and they protect from windburn, sunburn, 80MPH contact with the elements.
On hot days, this is must.

Oh yeah I forgot, if it's just boiling out there, soak the shirt, you'll get at least 2 hours of bliss....

Think synthetic shirts. He's not making them in long sleeve yet, but this guy has one called a "v-twin" that has different designs inside and out and two shirt tails. You can tuck one in and let the outside one hang. Basically it's two shirts that take up the space of one. Being a big guy myself, clothes that serve double duty are a huge space saver for me.

Never! Never! pitch your tent at night on a red ant hill. Pack all colored clothes,no tightie whities, saves time and money @ the laundry mat.Don't over pack, but pack prepared for any kind of weather, good rain gear, good boots, under armor,a good tent,1/2 cover,50spf+ sunblock etc...I'd be lost without my 550 Zumo.Hit the back roads as much as possible. It's always been the ride not the destination that I enjoy.Watch out for the rubber neckin' tourists at all times.Enjoy every minute rain or shine.
