Default Highway Pegs

Looking for some feedback on highway pegs,

I'm about 5'8" so I'm not sure that adding pegs to the higway bar will do much good especially if I can't reach em, or have to slouch way down to reach em. Kuryakyn has some nice offsets, but has anyone ever tried, or know anyone who's tried the Cruise arm / pegs from Kuryakyn? The ones that attach to the floorboard? When ever I'm setiing on the bike trying to figure out a "comfort zone" for my feet, it seems like just forward of the floorboard and out is primo, and this product comes to mind.

Thanks

Jimbo

For my Electra Glide I just got the HD 360 adjustable mounts and love them. Have them set up so the point where the peg mounts is 1.5" forward of the floorboard about 45 degrees out from each corner. Makes for lots of possible foot positions, my fav being heels on the floorboard and toes on the pegs. Feels just like the forward controls on my chopper.

Harley has some that you can rotate for best location / fit... Plus, I'm not a fan of the Kuryakyn trim on the footpegs, and HD's match your original boards.

Make sure when you mount them on the highway bars that you do so high enough to assure clearance when you are taking the coners. It could ruin your day when taking a corner really tight and you dig a highway peg into the road's surface..... It'll spin you around like a top -- don't ask how I know.......

Thanks folks,

Great advice on not mounting them too low

I'll check into the HD options.

I too am a bit vertically challenged and I went with these, and I they are great. Very similar to the Kuryakan cruiser pegs, but they mount on the front outer corner of the floorboard as opposed to front inner corner. They also have 3 adjustments angles to play with. Best

DR,

Thanks for the info! Have you ever had any issues with these catching/scraping the road during a turn?

Thanks again

If you do use engine guard mounted pegs, make sure you put around a 45 degree angle on the part that holds the pivot. This way if you do scrape the ground, the peg can move up with the forward motion of the bike.

I am also on the short side and mounted Kuryakn Zombie pegs. They are at a 45 degree angle facing my floorboards. The offset clamps were they key to getting perfect placement for a shorter leg reach. They are great. I can ride on normal floorboard or with heel on floorboard and toes on pegs (like having an extended floorboard) or fully stretched out.

Here are some pics.

Jim Harley makes a "Reach" seat for the vertically challenged. It moves you forward and down. I have seen it and it looks pretty comfortable.

I have 360 adjustables of my Street Glide as well.

Very functional & can be adjusted to fit just about anyone.

Give them a look.
