07 Ultra, I have never smelled gasoline with mine, in or out of the garage.

JasonJ is probably right. It's the heat management system shutting off the rear cyl when hot.

Liz better not read this ****, or she'll have another reason to complain when I have the bike inside the house over the winter. I can hear it now, "Joe, the bike smells, take it out of the living room"

I remember having a little smell to my 07 when new. Kinda gassy, oily I think but that was 3 years ago. Went a way after a short time. It wasn't the heat management as I never had it activated.

my 09 Ultra did the same thing for the first 1000 to 1500 miles then the smell went away. I assumed that it was normal until the engine loosened up a little. Had a new 97 that did the same thing just didn't last as long.

that does make sense. i've been parking my bike outside of the shop for a while before starting it and riding it in to go to sleep for the night. i guess that's why i've not experienced the problem. i do it because i don't want the additional heat in my shop.
