With mine, arms are right at or slightly below my shoulders. They are very comfortable. I had 12" Wide Glide bars on an old Fatboy and loved them, but have had stock SG bars on the last two SG's. I never found those to be uncomfortable bars for the most part.
I ordered the Yaffee bars cause I thought they looked killer but also thought they would be comfortable. They ARE very comfortable and I feel lilke I have even better control of the bike. They also are a perfect compliment to the 21" front end. Oh yeah...I had forgotten the benefit of a natural roll on the throttle by just pulling versus leaning over the throttle and having to assertively twist the wrist on the low bars.
I have Klock WErks Ergo back bars. They sit just above where my stock bars were. Enough that I had to get rid of my fairing mount mirrors. I could still bring them up a bit higher. They would be just above the speakers. At times my elbows get sore, I was hoping that possibly would help?
Here are a couple of shots of my hands on the cyclesmith 13". Pardon my gut on the second photo. Although it might not look like it. This hand/arm position is awsome for short and long rides.
I have 14" from HCC and aboso-fu@#king luv them!!! They stick up barely past the fairing and the ride is 10x more comfortable IMO. Definately get some apes
