While I know the experiences of others won't always aplly to me, it sure can't hurt for me to know what you guys know.
Im 5'8 and meancitycycles took maybe a half inch off the seat and i look over it with no interference. I dont like to look thru a windshield at all.

I have clearview 8" recurve. I get no head buffeting. You can use rain x on clearview shields. This is a big plus for me.

Default 6 1/2" clearview

I have a 6 1/2" Clearview in a dark tint w/recurve on an 07 Electra Glide Classic with a stock seat and bars. I'm 5'8"

I can see well over the top of it and duck behind it (a little bit) from rain or what ever.

It like all other clearview shields I've had is a great product.
Well made, durable, and reliable. You can't go wrong with a clearview.

The only negitive with the 6 1/2" I found is the wind buffing I found at highway speeds with my full face helemt. It was ok with a half helmet (loud but ok) but the full face is just high enough to cause wind and noise levels to go through the roof (at 70 mph and up)

I believe a clearview 8" would have been better and stopped that.

I went with another 8" and its much much better now.

I can still see over it and there is more to duck down behind if need be.
I'll admit I like the look of the 6 1/2" better but for all around function and looks I'm keeping the 8" in dark tint on for now.

I'm 5'9 with a sundowner seat(sits a little lower and back from stock) I tried the 6.5 clearview for the look I wanted and had a little more wind than I wanted on long trips. Went with the dark grey 8 inch clearview and I get great protection and still I am looking way over the shield. The dark grey is actually black but you can see through it. If you are looking for the street glide look I recommend this one. Best comfort upgrade I have done so far.

Thanks for all the posts. Sounds like an 8" Clearview is the shield for me.

I have the 8" Clearview recurve in smoke and really like it. I'm 5'10" 32" inseam and have a C&C solo seat on it. I had a 10" shield before and now get the same protection with 2" less.
