Default Chubbys WO 517 R/K

Wondering if anyone out there has installed Wild 1 WO517 on their R/K? I have the 513 now and was thinking of changing for more of a pull back, please let me know what you think, I hate to keep buying bars, gets expensive.

I've got the Chubby 508's, and they pull back alot and are really comfortable. A couple of riding buddies with bike envy call them wheel barrow bars...

Default bars

Had the 508"s and they sat a little to low and the throttle cables kept touching the top of the Gas tank when turned to the right, trying to get away from that. and yeh they were like a wheelbarrel, kept geting my ***** busted saying they couldn't pass me because the bars were so wide.

I am in the same boat... have 513's, and am thinking about 517's or 502's... please let me know if you find out any more about this. I am curious as to the hand position on the 517..... wish it was easier to check these things out! Best of luck with it.... Andrew

I wish I could get those... they are way too low for me at 6'2''. It appears that the 517's are too narrow, and provide a wheelbarrel hand position, so apes... here I come! Bring on the 502's!!

Im 6'1". Have you set on a bike with them? To me they remind me of setting in my chair in my living room (its really comfortable). By that I mean my arms are about in the same position as they are when Im in my chair (riding down the highway in a straight line). When Im doing a real slow turn (which I dont do a lot of) and steering nearly all the way in either direction they are about 3 inches above my knees. I have apes on my softail and its not nearly as comfortable, if comfortable is what you want that is. For looks the apes are killer in my opinion.

When you ask if I have set with them... are you referring to the 518's or the 517's? Huge difference in width on those two. I don't think I would be opposed to a lower bar if they were closer, so this is one of those situations where I am going nuts because I can't just sit of different bikes that have the different bars. I could order all 3, and get my local wrench crazy with this stuff, but he is already calling me 'crazier than a **** house rat'... but screw it... he makes money off of all this stuff... so perhaps I will order all 3 and go from there!

I was talking about the 518's. I thought those were the ones you were saying you wanted but you were too tall for. I dont know if you are familiar with whiskers bike here on the forum. Im pretty sure his are 518's and thats what I have as well. I just got mine on friday so I havent yet posted any pictures. You can see whiskers bike in the "turn a classic into a classic" thread. All the chubbys from wild 1's are nice because its easy to do all the internal wiring with their bars. Good luck with whatever bars you decide on.

Not to hijack, but I have a set of 518's for sale here. Make an offer, they are just gathering dust. https://www.hdforums.com/forum/softa...nstriping.html
