Truth be told, many who do extensive mods to cars and scoots enjoy the building more than the owning. If this is true in your case, take the money and start another build.

So the 2010's are including a SE SG?
i don't know that for sure but, its their hottest bike so it makes sense to me. we will see in a month

When you finally reach a point where you can say "my bike is done!", isn't it then time to say "it's time to start over"?

Isn't customizing these machines part of the thrill and excitement?

Just a thought. =)

i've kept my 24 dodge coupe for lots of years, chopped/channeled with a 509"big block mopar, and i just can't think of any reason to sell it, for now anyway. remember the 2010's are coming out next month, july so they say. might be some more improvements for that year. they dangle the worm on the hook right in front of us fish each year it seems. you sure got your bike set up nice, but lots of innovations even on the 09's. tuff call indeed. 'sup to you. just hope you're happy with your decision, as some things in life you can't reverse. good luck.

Whenever I have "been on the fence" with a decision like that, I've almost always sold the item in question. You have to realize, that ANYTHING is only worth what someone is willing to pay at any given time. To us, our bikes are priceless, but reality says "fair markey value". Do you ever anticipate getting a better offer? Thats what I ask myself, and to this very day, no offer was ever "better" or even close. So accept the fact that this guy this thinks as much of your bike as you do, and sell. Maybe counter offer for $38,500.00????

Correct on the sidecar going with the bike. It was added so that my daughter could ride with us. She could still go with us getting the OL a used scoot too.

I've thought about what I would do to a 2009/10 had I had one. I really could only see doing the exhaust, AC, tune and a few cosmetic mods. I wouldn't go overboard on it like I did on my current bike.

The SEUC sure looks pretty sweet. Has just about everything done to it as one would want. It would be great if they made a SE Street Glide for 2010.

I am someone who enjoys building a project. I've built several cars only to sell them once completed. Never planned it that way, I just loose interest once it is finished.

I'm going to talk to him again this Saturday to make a counter offer of $40k. We will see what happens. If the deal falls through, no big deal as I like my bike anyways.

What ever your first inclination was is usually the correct one for you. Of course, I've used the same logic and really regretted selling my '70 Boss 302 and '70 Torino SCJ 429 Cobra to someone that had to much money and toys.

It sounds to me like you may need the money or just want to have something extra and not feel as though you have so much invested in a bike. If that's the case, go for it. They say that you can take the current book value of the bike and then try and get 1/2 of what you have added (chrome, etc) to come up with a selling price. If this is in the ball park and you just want something fresh and something to start over with, I say "why not". But it is nice to have something pretty much done and not many others have what you have now. Is it worth joining the MANY others that have SG's? Just something to think about because it ultimately comes down to your decision and what makes you happy.

That is what I've been thinking of. Right now my bike is like no other. A new one will be like many others. Not needing the money either as i'm thankful the economy hasn't effected us.
