Default hard bag filler strips

I am installing the filler strips between the bags and rear fender. When putting the bag back on I noticed the locking pin/retaining pin for the rear portion of the bag seem to be much tighter. The bag seem to be pushing aginst the filler strip. Has anyone else experienced this?

I have them on my 07RKC... The bags do snug up to the filler strips, I assume this is because they were designed to "fill" the space. I like the way they look and don't see an issue. I have noticed that over time there is a little rub wear on the filler strips, but its not visible with bags in place.

Are you running soft or hard bags? I have the MOCO filler strips with hard bags, and they don't even come close to rubbing on my bags. The bike does look alot better from behind with them on.

I'm running the hard bags and the strips are Harley parts. Guess it is normal. I just thought it seemed to take an excessive amount of force to put the retaining pin back in.
