Default Anyone have installed pics of Vivid Black Console Insert 08+ FLHX?

Thinking of ordering the vivid black tank console insert for 08+ FLHX but can't seem to find any good pics of it. Hope someone here has one and can post a photo. Thanks in advance! Part# 71903-08.

I did the vivid black console insert on my black RKC - not sure if a picture of a RKC would help you decide. The stock insert always looked cheap to me and when I (lightly) dropped my camera on it I found out how cheap it really is. It dented like it was made of tin foil, which is not far from the truth - it's actually very thin aluminum.

It's subtle but the vivid black insert really cleans up the look of the tank. It's also pricey but if that's the look you're after (Recommended especially if your bike is black) go for it.

Warning - Use gloves when removing the stock insert. I cut my hands to ribbons pulling it off and didn't notice it until there was blood all over everything - it's friggin sharp around the edges.

Thanks Leo. Loosk killer! Did you powder coat the rest of the console and fuel door or are they off the shelf HD items like the insert?

Glad I saw your photo as the photo in the catalog on page 554 shows a shot of on a FLHR. I thought it was going to be a milled item but now that the photo is shown here, I understand what they are showing. That was what confused me, the other photo's showed just blacked out items and not the milled. As they say, a picture is worth a thousand words. Thanks again! Please let us know about the other blacked out items you have.

I had the console fuel door and gauge rings powdercoated to cover up that purty shiny chrome.

I removed mine with dental floss and a lot of pain and painted it black wrinkle as well as my fuel door. I am having the rest of the console powder coated gloss black. By painting the stock insert it looks cool the flhx and the lines still show up but look shadowed in sorry no pics at this time I waiting to get all my mods wrapped up in the next few weeks.
