Default 09 Ultra - Covers between rear fender and saddle bags?

Hello again,

I haven't been by the local dealer to check this out but a buddy of mine says my bike is missing the covers that go between the rear fender and saddle bags.
New to the Touring line and I see in the P&A book where HD offers factory paint matched covers but I haven't seen a photo yet that shows if the 09 Ultra Classic had these or maybe a black plastic version stock.

09 Ultra owners: Did your bike come with these covers? I can see my brake caliper and drive belt and apparently these covers are supposed to hide all of that.

Take care,
Dave

Here's where I am on H-D.com. You can select the 09 motorcycles and then the Ultra and do the 360 degree thing where it says "see the bike". Doesn't look like any covers there if I understood you correctly.

My 09' came without them.
I'm certain that the filler strips are still an optional accessory.

That's cool. I couldn't really tell on the HD site and I did the 360 view, etc. Picture wasn't crisp enough to tell for my eyes.

Another bike without them makes the odds much more in favor of them being an option.

Thanks for the speedy replies.

Dave

I take that back, I just went back on HD's corporate site and there is definitely open space between the fender and bags.
Thanks again.

Wow, this is an old story with a new twist. No, the Ultra does not come with "covers". Your friend may have seen them on other bikes. They are "not" available for bikes with the double rail saddle bag protectors. You'll have to get used to seeing the calipers and all that stuff.

They are an option and there is a version for the double rail protectors on Ultras.

The only one with a cutout fits the set-up where the rails join into a single rail before passing through the filler. I think it's called the Nostalgia, or something, and it's an option for Road Kings

I'm actually fine with it. I am able to keep track of brake pad wear, look at the belt, etc.
Guy at work keeps asking me if I checked in to it....
Thinks I got ripped off by not getting them.

Take care,
Dave
