Funny; I stand on the right board and mount from the high side, but dismount to the low side. Guess it's cause my foot is already on the ground from kicking out the jiffy stand...

I would prefer to mount from the left; having rode horses before I could even walk this just seems natural. However I have some problems with my right leg that makes it difficult to swing it up that high, so I usually mount from the right.

That is the bike I had. I have not read th eother but this is wha tI suggest.

Do it like the police.

I ALWAYS do. It is easy.

From the right side:

1) Squeeze the hand brake.
2) Step up on the RIGHT floorboard.
3) Swing ur left leg over. Done.

Get off in the reverse order.

And btw my friend, there is no stupid question. Only stupid answers.

I am GLAD u asked!

If u would like for me to video it for you, let me know. PM me personally so I will definitely get it.

Yep - 10 pages and 5 years worth of how to get on a motorcycle. I guess no one's heard of the passenger board - left foot on and step over - job done.

At 6-3 and a little stiffer than I used to be, I stand on the left and grab my right ankle as it's going over the seat. This helps me clear the right bag. Not pretty but it works.

I mount my Heritage from the left. However, since I had a full right knee replacement two years ago I can't lift my right leg over the seat on my RGU.
My son, who is a motor cop, taught me to mount it just like Buzzcap7 said. I was learly of it first thinking I'd tip the bike over stepping onto the floorboard, but have never come close to tipping over this 800 lb monster. Works like a charm and I don't scuff my seat or saddle bags with my boots.

Am I the only one that uses the backflip over the windshield technique? C'mon! that's the "old school" way of doing it!

Generally, I will drop it a gear and twist the wick as far as she will turn

No really, I've found with the Tour Pak on I will mount from the left side and kick my right boot up and over the saddle and slide right on. Get off the same way, in reverse.

Without the TP either side leg swing over the backrest is no problem.
