I've heard some old wrenches say they spray their wife's hairspray on the bar and slide the grip on. If it will hold some old blue hairs do at 60 mph, it'll keep a grip on

I found out the hard way that water can get through to the glue on Iso grips. Mine came off after two days of riding and parking in heavy rain. I tried hairspray and it worked for awhile. I did not want to glue the grip back in case I decided to change bars so I wrapped electric tape around the bar and screwed the left grip on over the tape and it has stayed in place very well.
