Default 2003 Ultra Classic

Local dealer has an '03 Ultra for sale with low miles. Appears to be priced decent enough. Were there any known problems/issues with this particular year/model that I should be asking about? TIA

Only issue I'm aware of is the main circuit breaker. There was a service bulletin on it.
The fix was to replace it with a higher amp breaker.

Two things I would check on are:
(1) Depending on the miles, have the cam chain tensioners been replaced?
(2) Has fork oil ever been replaced. 2003 model has a cartridge and requires fork removal to replace oil.
Other than that, no problems.

The mileage is 14, 000 original, so they say.

I would have them change the fork oil due to the age of bike. The tensioners should be ok till about 30K.

And replace them with gear drive when the time comes.

Good year. you should be good for a long long time. Just keep in mind the cam chain shoes around 30k.

wire for the rear injector breaks ( was made to short ) and the radio will crap out at about 25k. other than that it is a great bike.

Along those lines, anybody know what a "30 point Inspection" generally involves on used motorcycle?

Ask the dealer for a copy of what is covered in the 30 point inspection.
