I asked the same thing on forums, and also got about a million suggestions. It's all a personal preference of what you like. Seems like the touring bikes have a different sound than Dynas, Fat Boys, etc. For example, some guys here said V & H Monster Ovals, but I didn't like them for the sound that I wanted. I went to a dealer on a Saturday morning, asked around the parking lot, heard some pipes, found something I liked & said, "that's what I want, right there." Listen to Street Glides & Ultras too. They'll be pretty close to what you'll get on a Road King. I ended up with Rush Slashdowns Slip-Ons with a 2.5" baffle --- the largest & loudest baffle they make. Have an 09 EG Classic. (On Rush, the diameter of the baffle = the sound. Everything from 1.5" to 2.5". 2.5 is the loudest.) If you hear & like Rush, make sure you ask the diameter of the baffle. Lot of difference between 1.5 & 2.5. Go to a dealer or a bike night. You'll be able to decide. Have fun!

Just know going into this that a A LOT of local and State police are starting to crack down on loud pipes everywhere. If you do go the "loud route" definitely keep your stock pipes, just in case.

I never heard my stock pipes on the day I took delivery of my 09 StreetGlide. The dealer installed Rinehart slip-ons for me. Very nice sound. Idles like a kitten, but roars like a lion when you get on them. Deep throaty note.

That reminds me, my buddy went and picked-up my stock mufflers from the dealer for me. They're still at his house. LOL.

Have to agree on the Hookers also. I have a set of V&H duals with fishtails, no baffles, on a 2000 EG. Friend has a set of those Hookers on an 03 anniv edition RK and they are by far the loudest I have heard. Those pipes with baffles are WAY louder than my open pipes with fishtails, and deeper in tone as well.

Rinehart True Duals (if they make them for the '09's) or D&D Fatcat.
