This happened to me ONCE.
First thing...dry the connectors.
Second...Use electrical grease.
Third...Make sure you place the connectors in a way that the larger side of the connector is facing downward. That would drastically reduce the chances of water getting in there.

Well - I made sure it was good and dry, put some dielectric grease on the connections, taped it up good and put it back together.

The bike runs as good as new! A huge relief.

Thanks for everyone's advice.

Anyone want to speculate on what might happen?
You'll be fine...I had the same problem with mine one time...Pulled it let it dry and re-installed it except this time I added some die electric grease and installed it under the right side side cover. No more problems after that.
