Default Automatic Primary Chain Adjuster on '05 RKC

So I'm putting everything together to do my 15k servicing and it occurred to me that maybe I ought to upgrade to an automatic primary chain adjuster rather than the stock manual adjust model that came with he '05 engine. I called my local stealership and the attendant asked me why I wanted to upgrade if it would be a long time before my existing adjusting shoe would wear out and although it is checked during servicing it is seldom in need of adjusting.

What do you all think?

Is it worth the trouble of changing it?

I did it just so it's one less thing I have to worry about. If there's an upgrade that makes life easier I look into it.

I am happy with my pri. chain auto adjuster. No more guessing or even worrying about it. Seems to be a great upgrade.

I installed one on my 05 Road King and after about 200 miles it was removed. The whining from the primary was so loud that I thought I had a bearing going south. Yes, it was installed properly. I guess it works for some but not for others.

I have 32K on my bike and looked at my primary adjuster this past winter, it has minimal wear, I was going to change it out just because I had it apart, until I found out what the stealer wanted for it, I put it back in and adjusted it. I'm all for piece of mind on new technology and saving maintenance hours but I'm going to live with what I have. My $0.03.

I just changed mine to the automatic adjuster from harley. I have 38000 miles on 06 streetglide. The adjuster had a 3/8 groove in it.Now I don;t have to think about it anymore.
