Default Vibration in front Fairing

I seem to have a vibration in my front fairing right around 3k rpm.....it almost sounds like valvetrain noise but it's definitely not. Something must be loose and vibrates enough to create a valvetrain like noise just in a narrow rpm band.

It goes away if rpms drop or raise but it vibrates right in the 3k range which seems to be where I am a lot.

Is this a known issue? Any thoughts? I've tried pushing on all of the plastic pieces as I ride to see if I can find it but so far no luck.

I had some loose fairing brackets but it was a result of the 6.5" speakers.

No, just the usual constant mild buzz.

Which brackets and where are they located?

I also just took it out again and my rpm range was wrong...it starts about 2200 and continues to 2700 ish and then dies off after that. Also very noticeable when I let off the clutch to shift gears.

Default fairing vibes

This sounds familiar, I also have a vibration in the fairing of my 08 SG between 1800 and 2200 rpm that goes right into the handle bars. Had the left inner fairing bracket replaced at 1500 mi after a very noticable rattle in the clutch lever. But in the last 1000 mi the fairing vibration has become excessive. Had the motor mounts and top and bottom dampeners checked and all were OK. Just bought 2 new brackets and I'm about to crack open the fairing to replace them. Don't know what else to check, the dealer of course says "its a Harley, its supposed to vibrate." Ive got 5k mi on the bike and its definately worse that it was during the first 4k mi. I'd be interested in hearing any suggestions but the best guess would be the brackets are cracked or loose.

Yeah I did a forum search and that seems to be popular....I'd just have a hard time believing my brackets could be broken with only about 150 miles on the bike so far.

Possible sure...probable...I guess I would hope not.

I am out of town for a few days but when I get back I think I will pop the fairing off and check it out just to satisfy my curiousity. I can take vibration...it's the rattling that is driving me nuts.
