On mine it is a air temperature gauge. It is one of those off ebay that you can swapout a clock/temp gauge. I like it but it reads high due to the motorright below.
It will leave a glue residue after it is removed. mine began to peel up in a couple places(after a year) so off it came. Then it was a bi*ch to get the glue off. Acetone, rags, a very steady hand and q-tips. Constant worry about getting anything on the tank paint. Now I know how easy it is to unplug the dash- wish I had known earlier. Take the dash off and go at the glue removal.

What did it run you to get yours fixed?
I forgot what I paid exactly. I think it was around $350 (?). I don't remember the exact price. I ordered a new fender instead of fixing the one I had. To fix and paint wasn't much less, so I just ordered a new one. The shop charged an hour of labor too.
Now that I have a lift, I could of saved some money...
