road glide street glide

Yup, it's true, I bought my SG because I loved the way it looked. I don't regret it one bit. Althogh, my Father is a RG junkie and swears by it. I've heard many RG owners do the same. Since I've never riden one I can't compare the two. They're supposed to be great riding machines, but I wouldn't drive a Vega if it was the best driving car in the World!!! That's just me though!
Maybe too much for ya?

Man I've owned both and there isn't anything that "glide's" down the road better then a Road Glide. I ride a Street Glide now only because I'm more into the style then a true touring bike. If I was to put any mile's on a bike like I used to, I wouldn't own anything but a Road Glide, but because I don't, I'll keep lookin' good on my Street glide :-)

puttnutt24, nice Street Glide bro! At least you are honest about the ride difference between the two!
I think a better analogy for the Road Glide would be comparing it to an old 1964 Dart 330Hemi Sedan. Many found those old mopars hideous in the looks department but avid collectors saw the beauty in the hideousness and developed a true love for them.
I mean...who wouldn't want a ugly sharknose HD sitting in their garage? LOL.

I have rode both and honestly cannot tell any difference in terms of handling or wind. what i do know is i feel alot more cramped on a batwing bike, thus why i chose the road glide. its all about personal choice to me. i do like the added benefit of not having the same bike as everyone else. not many yellow road glides out there and i like it that way.

The major difference I noticed was cramped and squished on a SG,
as compared to stretched out on my RG.
My buddy and I swapped bikes for a ride....he was on my RG and I on his SG.
Neither were comfortable of the others bikes.....he had to stretch on mine, and I was cramped and squished on his.
The RG may look ugly to some.....but setting behind my windshield and rolling
down the road, what some may see as ugly I see as beauty.
I know I made the right choice when I ordered mine.......
as compared to stretched out on my RG.

I would say mostly for the trailer queens that want a cool looking bagger. Most long distance riders will tell you Road Glide is 100% better handling than a Street Glide.
