Default Odd question but....

Does anyone know how to disable the turn signal self-cancel function on late model Harleys?

My dealer is trying to sell some Sportsters to a local riding school, but a requirement is that the turn signals cannot be self-cancel.

I think they do. The dealer said they can't disable the bank angle sensor like they used to.

I've had the same question, odd or not. Here's why. If you have multiple bikes, having auto cancel on what and not others messes things up...

While you are riding the HD, if you accidentally push the button to cancel the signal, you often turn it back on. Not what you want.

If you are riding the non HD bike, you will sometimes forget to cancel the signal. Not what you want.

I think the self cancel HD signals are great and work extremely well. I wish all bikes had them. They don't, I've heard it's a patent thing. I want all my bikes to work as close to the same as possible, so I would prefer to turn off the cancel feature on the HD. Then I would always need to cancel signals on all my bikes, and consistency is more important than convenience for me.

Easy solution, krussell - only ride Harleys.
