I really had fun riding it. Felt like my *** was being pushed off the back of the seat and the wind noise was all I could hear. Bugs hitting my face as well.[/quote]
And to think thats why we all fell in love with two wheels in the first place.
Just my .02$ TOMMY
I like the bugs, saves on the need to stop for food.
Bugs and rain the best, Meal and a drink.
Now only if I could figure away to get gas into the tank?
Anybody know if a Harley will run on methane? (You could probably get 45mpf).
I hate riding with a windshield and keep mine off about 90% of the time. Bugs and wind are part of riding to me. 85 mph on the freeway and I can still ride with one hand without any issues. The buffeting from the shield is much worse than riding without it IMHO. To each his own......
Great read tima. Glad I wasn't drinking coffee as I read it or I would have spued coffee all over the keyboard. I loved the gorilla on the trike comment. I have enongh gray hair now, so I put a downpayment on a 2009 Ultra yesterday. I just got tired of having no room for storage and being beat up by the wind when I rode with loacl CMA chapter. The wind noise on the sporty was so bad I had to wear ear plugs which it is illegal to do in my state. The loud pipes on the sporty would get to me on a long ride so I guess I'm well established in the geezer club now.
ROFL tima but naaaaah, you aren't a geezer yet. You would have included slobber running off the ends of your white mustache and beard. Was a fun ride for a while though (the grin was there) but sure did PO the OL and she whacked the back if my grey head (ouch). BTW, I also learned the hard way that the Love Bugs here in FL are indeed "less filling" but they sure don't "taste great". Wimpshield is back in place.
You are right, most of my years have been without a shield, now the last 7 have been behind one.Every once in while when feeling cocky, and needing a hot rodding fix I take mine off.It does get old fast.Geezer? what the heck we are all headed down that road.
When i got back into riding a few years ago....a rock hit the "wimpshield" i was testing...FRIGGIN HARD HIT!!! would of been a face shot for SURE!!! At that point i said to myself...self that could of hit a tooth and cost some $$$$ or worse!! So ive been a shield lover ever since..
