I'm officially a true blue, dyed in the wool geezer...

I took my windshield off my Road King last week, did about 125 miles. Yeah, there were a few bugs hitting me, but that annoying wind buffeting was gone. That's right, it was a nicer ride without the windshield. It's not going back on except for long trips or very cold weather now. And let me add that I'll be 53 in a few weeks, not to mention running 16 inch apes, so you guys that are using age as a crutch are nothing but weak.

MOTHER OF GOD, HAVE MERCY ON MY SOUL!!! Riding that thing was like a gorilla trying to rip you off the bike, blasting my jacket off, rolling my sleeves up and pulling me helmet off my head!!! I swear my helmet strap is two inches longer now. (This is where I know I'm a geezer) Worst part was the frigging bugs hitting my face! DAYUM! WAP, THWACK, SPLACK! Felt like someone taking shots at me with a pellet gun!

I had my ultra in the shop having my cb replaced under warranty the other day. I was in the showroom looking at the Cross Bones. I absolutely am in love with the look of this bike. I think it is the coolest bike the moco has going right now. A salesman saw me looking and said "we've got one you can take out for a test ride, no obligation" So I said what the hell.
I really had fun riding it, but at 60 mph it was just intolerable. Felt like my *** was being pushed off the back of the seat and the wind noise was all I could hear. Bugs hitting my face as well. All in all it took away my love for any bike without a shield. No matter how cool it looks. If I could afford a bike just to ride around town and never hit highway speeds, I'd love to have one, but I guess I am firmly in the geezer crowd as well.
