Default Buying a high mikeage ultra ????

Been reading this board for quite a while , finally have a question to ask.
I was going to go and look at a 2004 Ultra , the bike has 64,000 miles on it . they are asking $14,500 for it . Looking for input on both the asking price , and also , most important , what i should look for in a bike with this mileage on it .
Anything in particular that should have been , or might need to be replaced , adjusted ,,,,,,,,,etc. ????
Any and all suggestions will be welcome
thanks
\ Joe.

If it has not been done it will be soon ready for a clutch, cruise moduleand complete overhaul or at least a top end. With those miles in two years I suspect a lot of high speed touring

I wouldn't be afraid of it, but I would try to get it at about $13000

Ask to see the service records, were the oil changes done on time, the 5 and 10,000 mile services done on time?? Seems like a pretty big price, would also try to talk him down..check the bike over good, ask if you could have a friend look at it, one that knows his way around big harleys..maybe even have a shop look at it..look under it for damage from going over curbs, stuff like that, look at the floorboards, have they been scraped in the twistys?? any engine Mods done to it, like cams, big bore kit.. for that kind of money look it over real good.[sm=biker.gif]

You know for about $1,000 more you might pick up a new E-Glide Standard and add all the stuff later when you can afford it..a new bike with a 2 year warrenty for just a grand more?? did you think of that?

I bought a 2000 Ultra a few months back for $13,900 out the door with 30,000 miles on it. I think you could do much better.
