Wink

If your stock tires are Dunlop, leave them alone. The rear tire in fact was specially designed for the 09 SG.

Well all I can say is I love my stocker dual compouond tires. Now I done live in a hot greasy road country you do but I do belive that our roads are just as bad due to frost heaves, repairs, tar snakes and sub standard materiels due to our location as yours. Have your run your tires down enough to judge thier wear, and felt thier performance in your enviroment?

I have no problems at all with the stock Dunlops on my '09 FLHX. I haven't run Dunlops on my '00 Fatboy since the first tire change, but the stock '09 tires are great, so far.

do you have enough miles on the new dunlops to judge fairly. i think the new dunlop rear is great not crazy about the wear on the front only got 11k before changing because of cupping, but will see what happens with the new 408. on the rear i have 15k and still have 5/32nds tread life left. good performance on all road surfaces wet or dry. i will be sticking with dunlops on my 09.

I am liking the dunlop E3 on the back of my 07, I have cupping on the front, but it is a Michelin commander, I will be going with an E3 on the front soon.

I don't think you have much choice. To my knowledge nobody is making a tire in that size except Dunlop (407/408) at this time.

I probably don't have enough miles to judge milage, but I don't worry that much about milage as I do how well they stick. If I could find tires that would let me ride straight up a wall I'd buy 'em.

Charlie Mosteller an old flat track racer from the 50's & 60's turned me on to Continental Milestones. They are a bit softer compound. I will never go back to Dunlops. Of course we actually have curves in south Missouri and northern Arkansas.

We have 'em here too. When you get into the mountains, we have a lot of decreasing radius curves, 500 ft drops and no guard rails. That'll pucker you up.
