I did mine before my last trip to the NC hills....wow what a diff....Almost kept up the the Goldwing buddies....no more dive and rides a lot better 2 up also....i will prbably do mine every 20 or 30k miles...
i used the screamin eagle heavy, and for me, it's a tad stiffer than i like. it does certainly allow me to get much further into a curve before braking, and i see lots of improvement as far as not nearly as much nose dive when braking at a stop. there is bound to be a way to mix the stock and the se heavy or there may be one that is just between the two. that iclick, he be da man, thanks iclick, i' been able to get a lot of useful information from you. i.e. tire sizes, fork oil changes, etc. keep em coming.

Jim, glad I could help. Some have mixed Type E and SE Heavy, and I don't know why you couldn't do that. AFAIK the two are compatible.
I've gone to changing it every 10k. After having to remove the stock drain plug screws with vice grips the first time, I replaced them with hex heads--much easier to deal with. And I've found standard ATF does just fine and gives about the right firmness for me.
