Default Brake pad orientation- Front Calipers

I am installing my new Lyndall pads. Did the right caliper first. The pad with the 2 'ears' on it was on the inside, so I put the new pads in the same way.

Moved to the left side and the pad with ears was on the outside! Is that how they're supposed to go, or is one type pad on the inside on both sides?

The right side was much more worn than the left.

Thanks!

If I remember correctly from when I changed mine, the pads are reversed on each side. I didn't really think about it, I just replace the pads the same as the ones I removed. If you haven't already, I suggest you follow the caliper cleaning instructions from the Lyndall web site. http://www.lyndallracingbrakes.com/service_tech.htm It's worth the little extra time and effort since the calipers are off anyway.

Thanks for the replies!

The pads are indeed supposed to be reversed, in case anyone else finds themselves questioning this. I followed the excellent cleaning instructions on the Lyndall site also. Big difference!
