2000 Road King. Lowering parts and seat?
My old mans got a 2000 Road King classic. He's a little on the short side and needs it either lowered or a different seat. So, what are my alternatives for lowering it in the rear? Brackets? Shocks? The pros and cons of each?
On to the seat. What would be a good rider and passenger seat that would lower the rider without sacrificing passenger comfort?
Thanks guys!

Tom from http://harleygoodies.com/ here. You can get brackets to lower the existing shocks, shorter shocks like on the street glide, or an air ride. Pros and cons are the cheaper kits will not ride as well, but it really all depends on how you ride and what you expect out of your bike. Whatever you choose, enjoy.

Depends on how much he needs to lower it. Seat change or cutdown might be enough. On my RK, It had the lowering blocks when I got it and I had bottoming out issues. Changed to lower Progressive 440's and it was great. On my 07 EGC, I have the HD lower air shocks and lower front end kit. I have a 29" inseam and with the stock seat and normal boots can flatfoot it.
Progressive has some good options also for front and rear.
The Air-rides are nice because you can adjust them on the go and raise and lower them for the type of road you are on ect. Had a guy show me all it could do and thought it was nice, but not worth the extra money for me, pretty pricey.

I have shorter shocks, TJ products lowering kit, & Lapera Barebones seat along with Progressive dropin front kit. I am 5'8" and sit bended knee on bike. Since I lowered the front, I have notice some minor tire rub 2 up riding on rough roads.
The 1st photo is after lowering front & installing D&D Fatcat. The 2nd photo was just rear lowered with True Dual exhaust.

IMHO this is an affordable solution: http://*******.com/dgjdt9
Be sure and add plenty of air to your shocks if you go this route.
