I had those same mufflers installed before I picked up my bike. I just wasn't happy with the sound to be honest. Told the salesman to get my stocker's back on and I'll make an exhaust switch later on.

Theres nothing like an afternoon in your garage with your bike and six friends
swapping out the exhaust. Iam happy the way things turned out

You are right about that. They have to go thru a complete diagnostic to confirm that it the real problem.
I had a set of the SE Active Performance Exhaust installed at delivery,(06RG) and a stage I - the bike ran fine but kept tripping the check engine light, after 2300 miles 5 trips back to the dealer, manycalls to MoCo, I jst said, put the stock ones back on and leave the SE/AC and stage I downld. Have not had time to ride it since because of 7 days of rain. . . rats. the 06 models are going to be a PIA to get tuned because of EPA and FINEs to the dealer. . . .

I had SE slip ons and quickly replaced them with a full system eliminating the cross over pipe and what a difference, I should have known that anything easy will give limited and not so favorable results

I ran SE's for about 500-600 miles, no popping at all, but also have the SERT and bike was put on the dyno. My 05 with V&H and the HD download popped quite a bit. I'm still not sold on the injectors being the problem with the 06's, have had the 8's since day one, Nov. 05 and I have never experienced the problems some claim the 25 degree injectors will fix.

My injector are 25 degrees. I can't tell the difference between the standard SERT map and the custom SERT map with regards the popping. It's not obnoxious but it's audible. The note of the SE slip-ons isn't as deep as I hoped. It's deeper than stock but I want deeper. More rumble. Thing is, I don't want real loud pipes. I think true duals and 2-into-1s are going to be louder than I want.

Adam, are you running the 98B's? They sounded very decent on my bike. A bud just put the Rinehart slips on his bike, and the 98B's sounded much better IMO.

I have the B&E Superflows on my SG. They are just a little louder than I'd like, but I can hear the stereo fine with the Hogtunes installed. I have the stock A/C and tune with the 8 degree injectors. I have no popping at all. I did have my dealer adjust the idle at the 1k service, and the bike was really running great when I put the Superflows on. I think that people who have the popping after putting louder mufflers on probably had it with the stockers too, but you just can't really hear it since they are so quiet. I'm going to be doing a stage one soon, and we'll see how that goes.

Topper, the SE slip-ons are part no. 64900-99. They don't sound bad and the popping is very mid. Certainly, something I can live with for a while. The bike's running fine and I've got as much oomph as possible without going for a big bore 95 or 103.

The slipons I was running ended in 98B, good sound on throttle and a decent rumble at idle. Maybe, I'm just lucky with my bike, but on my 3rd set of pipes and have still not heard the first pop. May take a few tweakings but hope you get there. Good luck.
