Default Dumb Question But I've Got To Ask

Wife and I just bought a small travel trailer, but the only way I can take the bike anywhere is to ride it (okay if less than 400 to 500 miles), or try to trailer the thing. Trouble is, I'd have to trailer it behind the trailer. I know some states allow this and some don't, but main thing is has any of you ever done this before? If so, do you have any pictures? Thanks for any help.

Is it a tag along or 5th wheel travel trailer? Towing two tag alongs is risky at best. If your travel trailer is sturdy enough, I've seen small platforms rigged and welded to the back that will lift and hold your MC. A friend has one attached to his small 5th wheel.

Anyway, here is a site with the laws

It's a small travel trailer (19 feet), not a fifth wheel. What I was considering was a Kendon dual trailer, so not much weight, but again, not sure if it's reasonable. I did pass a truck/trailer/trailer combo doing this the other day.

Never towed double myself as it's not legal here. Maybe a Toy Hauler would have been a better choice.

We looked at 'em but they just are not quite what the wife wanted, and this is her toy, mine is in the garage! I met a guy the other day at a campground who had a larger toy hauler and put his GW in the back, but he said it was more difficult than it looked since the trailer is fairly high and the ramp angle pretty steep. Anyway, he wished he hadn't gone that way, so who knows.

I'm not sure there's many good options here, may just have to ride the bike and let the wife drive the truck.

Double trailering can be done just have to be careful and pay attention. Guy i work with and boats alot they double trailer from columbus ohio to lake cumberland every year with very large boat 30ft cigar and jet ski trailer hooked to the back of that. Get there unhook the jets and then only have the boat or other trailer when they need it .

Id stay away from that tandem tow deal unless you got a lot of truck to brake it in an emergency.Plus id bet if something did happen your insurance company would fight paying you. I did find this on the web if you want to check it out, may give you a few ideas.

I would fabricate or have someone fabricate something on the back of the RV so the bike could ride sideways right behind it; up on a perch/platform. An RV dealer may carry something like this that would work like a receiver hitch does on a pick up truck.

Why don't you put the bike up in the box of the pickup?
