Default $315 for 1,ooo mile service?

just got my 1k service on an 09 road king. $315. that is way more than what i have seen in other states/dealers. yikes!!!

i think i paid 350 ish

buy the manual and di it yourself.

I wouldn't mind paying that if they (dealer mechanics) would do what they are supposed to do and do a good job.

That's about the going price around here. although my local dealer is always having specials for services usually 50 off that. get the book & do it yourself. Then you'l know it was done right & completely.

I'm pretty sure I paid around $240 and that was adding Amsoil syn in all 3 holes.

I paid 105 at a independent shop, did everything by the book. I know because he has a customer waiting area with big plate glass windows so you can watch them work on your bike.

i paid 147.62 i supplied my own oil amsoil. they charged me 2 hours labor @ 59.00 an hour 4.95 for a gasket, and 13.95 for an filter plus tax seemed reasonable to me I do got the service manual an plan on doing other servicing myself.

$315 is about what I paid last year, which included synthetic (Syn3). I got the service manual, and plan to do the 5000 mile myself in a few weeks.

yeah i plan to do the next service myself. I have just read and heard that it might not be a bad idea to do the 1st one at the stealership. Whatever, i got me out of the house.
