$315 for 1,ooo mile service?

The more miles you pile on the more visits to the dealer services. I choose to have the dealer do the work on my bike. I am envious of the folks that have the know how and time to do it themselves. Time is very limited for me so I would rather spend it riding.
I just make sure within 48hrs of paying the bill I take a nice long ride to forget about how much it just cost.
Enjoy the many more miles ahead of ya!

Don't count on HD to do a good job of taking care of your Motorcycle. I can give you a ton of examples of poor service work. Buy Fix My Hog dvds and do your own service. For someone not familiar with mechanics just reading the service manual won't do it. I knew next to nothing about bike repairs and these dvds paid for themselves a hundred times over. Buy just about every socket - regular and deep, wrench and torx set and a pound and inch torque wrenches. Buy a motorcycle lift from Harbor Freight ( about 350 which is excellent.) The money you save will easily pay for the $600 in these tools you will have for a lifetime. You must have an HD service manual first before doing anything. Also, don't under estimate Google to find a ton of info on maintaining your HD.
