Default 2009 Touring Bike Stock Exhaust Performance Specs?

I'm looking for the truth on the '09 exhaust.

Has anyone seen results from a test comparing the performance (e.g., flow, back pressure) of the '09 header exhaust to competitors?

Ideally, I'd be able to see results comparing a range of combinations. For example:
  • '09 stock head pipes + '09 stock mufflers
  • '09 stock head pipes + aftermarket slip on mufflers
  • '08 stock head pipes + '09 stock mufflers
  • '08 stock head pipes + '08 stock mufflers
  • V&H True Duals
  • Thunderheader 2:1
  • Bub 7
Etc.

Anybody seen the results from a test like this?

Where?

Thanks.

No, but I have seen a couple tuners — Fullsac and Fuel Moto — comment that the '09 headers worked really well. Check this link for Fullsac's comment: http://www.cvoharley.com/smf/index.php?topic=32627.0

Man, that was an interesting thread.

Thanks!

I didn't know anything about Fullsac before reading that thread and now I'm curious about having them mod my stock mufflers.

Again, thanks.

Glad it helped. If you ever decide to remove and sell your stock header, give me a shout. I'd be interested in buying it.

interesting to read there was no benefit to removing the cats on the 96" motor unless your 96 is putting out big hp..... as many have said, stock headpipe and slip-ons are the best bang for the buck next to a 2-1.

" The first dyno test of removing the cat that I did was on a 09-96" that showed all but zero hp gain. At 75 hp the cat isn't holding any power back. On the CVO 110, whole different story. At 95hp, the cat and stock muffler are killing off about 10hp. Not to mention building heat and hurting fuel economy. "

I removed the stock headpipe and stock mufflers and replaced them with the new V&H PowerDual and Rinehart slip ons. I love the sound and the feel!

I will sell my headpipes and/or stock mufflers if anyone is interested.

Email me with your offer: kenfichtner@fichtnerchevrolet.com

I recently removed the stock 01 pipes and 07 mufflers from my 01 Ultra to install a 2009 FLHT system I picked from Ebay. My SOTP dyno says the bike definately picked up power and since putting on the pipes I'm getting a lean pop through the throttle body ocationally that I wasn't getting previously. Never thought I'd have to get it retunned for stock pipes.

Interesting.
But I didn't see where the comparison included the stock TUNED bike. How much of the gain was from changing parts and how much was from being properly tuned?
