Default Tips for Riding in Hot Weather

Leaving for Sturgis 29 Jul w/8 others, 1st two days is west from Atlanta to Lubbock than north thru Colorado High 90's -low 100's temps. Looking for tips to store water for use while riding and any comments on Cooling vests vs using a wet sweat shirt, to keep the body temp down.

When it's really hot 95+, and I'll be riding a long time, I drink plenty of powerade or something similar.

Almost forgot, I wear a mesh jacket to keep me cooler when riding. Don't dehydrate near as fast!

I carry a few bottles of water and/or Gatorade and use a Silver Eagle cooling vest. Start riding early when it's cooler and park it earlier.

Don't forget Sturgis is in the Black Hills, where the temperature can drop as much as 20-30+ degrees at night, as I learned the hard way. On my first trip, the closest motel I could get was 70 miles south of Sturgis. Those rides back to the motel at 2 AM were bitter cold. I ended up buying a new leather jacket and chaps, to wear WITH my rain gear, trying to stay warm at night. During the day, sleeveless shirts were pretty toasty.
