Default Cables for Wild 1 8.5" Baby Apes

I am considering installing the Chubby WO513 8.5" Baby Apes on my '03 FLHRCI and switching to SS braided cables at the same time. I wanted to use HD Diamondback Cables, but they do not come in extended lengths. Looked at the Barnett cables, but am concerned about the front brake hose matching the clutch, throttle and idle cables if I go with the Platinum Series.

Any advice on cables and cable lengths? Thanks.

Three are suppliers that carry the diamondback cables in extended lengths. Try JP cycles. thats where I got mine.

I put the Wild1 16" apes on my 05RK and used Barnett +10 SS CAbles all around. They look and fit great. I also used the Wild1 cable clamp 3 hole for the idle/throttle/brake lines. Call Wild1 direct and they will give you they cable length to order from Barnett. Also don't forget to put in xtra stiff poly riser bushings. I also used a one piece riser top clamp instead of the tiny stock 2 piece riser clamps.

Here is the link for Road King tech tips on bar installation. I just put the 10" rise on my bike. The tech tip bulletin will recommend cable (they are regular stainless, not diamond back), and Wild 1 advises NOT to use the poly bushings as they are too tall for the nacelle once the new top clamp and bars are installed.

http://www.wild1inc.com/rktechtips.html

The tips are for the 508/518 bars, but pretty much apply to any bar swap out.

Thanks for the info, guys. I've got more to go on than I had before. Lots of looking around is still in my future.
