Default Front end noise/rattle/clunking

I posted a thread over in the tech forum about my front end rattling and clunking. I know this forum has a lot more readers, if anyone can help out with some useful insite or advice it would be much appreciated.

I read a post yesterday, I think, about the same problem. Poster said the stem was pushed to far in the lower triple tree before it was welded at the factory. That prevented the stem nut from tighting up fully leaving a little slack in the front end. A non HD shop found the problem and fixed by placing a spacer on the stem to eliminate the slack. I looked but could not find that thread. Try a search and good luck with your problem.

I wondering if it's safe to drive. I'd hate to loose the front wheel.

Same noise here, 2008 Ultra. I thought I was going nuts, I am glad someone else has the same problem. It is so faint that I can barley hear it ( feel it really ). I have inspected everything I can think of and can't figure it out

Could be your front motor mount isolater

The rubber in my motor mount wore out causing the front of the motor to sag. Every bump i hit made a clunking noise. Easy to change out

I have a similar issue with my 08 Road Glide. I hear it mostly first thing in the morning, as I set off to work -- I drive over a curb coming out of my driveway, and I hear a light "clink". Same with the first few road bumps I hit. Seems to be less noticeable after a few km, which I don't understand if its a head bearing issue. The bike rides fine -- maybe a bit light in the steering compared to my 98 Dyna, but I think tour bikes are lighter steering. I have 12,000km (about 7,000 miles)

I'd sure be interested in hearing what your dealer says.

I've got a similar issue with my 08 Ultra- I get it when I apply the brakes and the front is compressed- sounds like something is not tight on the front end, a rattle and clunk. I've check all my fasteners, next is a visit to the Dealership.
