I have a 09 Street Glide..............Anybody ever use the stock seat and add a backrest? If so, did just adding the backrest make enough of a difference or do you suggest going with a mustang or sundowner seat as well?

On a long ride it's like having bucket seats for your bike. It supports my back and i don't any back pain when i get off. On the run between Phoenix and Tucson (about 120 miles) it's very comfortible.

Default Mustang Back Rest

My Mustang back rest----All i can say is that this is the BEST mod i've done to my 2007 Ultra.

I never take it off PERIOD.

This thing completely rocks.

I bought the Sundowner for two up riding but it's so comfortable I leave it on most of the time. However; for short rides around town the OE seat looks a little better so I do ride that too. With that said, the backrest compliments the OE seat in all the same ways. Spring the extra dough and get the driver adjustable mount.

Wouldn't have a scoot without one.

I had used mine on all long distance rides (sturgis from ohio, laconia, etc) and the back rest really allowed me to relax back without "hunching" down. You don't really need one for a couple of hours but make a trip and they are a great value. I had a corbin solo with backrest.
