Default Stolen Power Commander?

Buddy bought an SERT from HD the other day. The Tech told him that people are having the Power Commanders taken from their parked motorcycles.

How common of a problem is this? Have you, or do you know of anybody that has had one stolen from their bike. I tried the search function but didnt turn up any related topics.

Sounds like a sales tactic to me.

Never heard of any being stolen, but after I had my bike dyno'd it was never stuck back onto the velcro and 4 days later I smelled the drive belt eating it. Yip, almost cut in half, big hole in the side and it still works, but I did replace it.

I'm not sure which is more depressing; The fact that dealer personnel will tell customers things like this, or the fact that there are people that believe them. Sad, just sad.

I guess there's a new PC detector that people use to find these under our seats and side covers? Hmmmmm...good to know!

I could see it happening........would only take about a minute to steal one on the pre-'08 bikes. Remove right side cover, cut 2 zip ties, unplug 2 plugs and you're gone.

Never heard of it........but it's possible.

One they need to know it is there two other then the glied and the ultra I think the put it under the seat so it would take some work to get at it. Strange I would think there are some much better sales point for the Sert over the power command other then trying to tell people the power commanders are being stolen.
