Also, when doing the swap get all of your cables before you start tearing your bike down. The lower brake splitters have been back ordered alot lately through Tucker Rocky and Parts Unlimited which supplies parts for almost all the catalogs. Just ordered one for my SG about 3 weeks ago and it had to come out of Cali and took a week to get it. At the time it was the last one between every parts supplier. Just got lucky. If you have to do a modular setup let me know and I can help with new cable lengths. Good luck.

Ok just rode my buds fatboy with 18" apes. Very comfortable. But it was just to the bar and back. If I was to get 18s and not like them for whatever reason could I swap to 16s without changing cables again?

Technically you could. You would need to run your cables to try to waste about 2 inches in the routing if you went back to the 16's. Just some advice, take your buddies bike for a little longer ride. That may tell you what you need to know.

I have the same bike! Love mine. I just put on a SG fender and took off the rear bumper to de-geezer it a bit. I don't have apes, but have tried the 16's. Perfect for me at 6'1"
