Mr Clean system, Any opinions?

I bought one last summer. We have extremely hard water here, and even after softended, it leaves bad spots. The Mr Clean system does a very good job helping with that issue, but I was the most impressed with how it cleaned up the black wrinkle painted cylinders, and made them look like new.

I have one and it works well. I have used it on the bike but mostly on the car. The manufactures soap for the unit is expensive. I haven't tried using another brand soap in it to see if it still works. Once the soap is on the bike you still gotta scrub though. The filter for the "spot free" rinse is also expensive and does not last but 5-6 washes. Since you already got an air dryer and spots are not a concern to you I think I would just save my money.

Has anyone substituted the factory soap with something different and what kind? I am sort of on the brink. I have lost my job and need something versitile.
Dont care for filtering as I have a high volume blower. I do hoever haver hard water also but not a problem anymore. Thanks Guys and Girls.

I have it and use it frequently. Love it! Don't try to substitue another brand of soap though. It won't work right. You have to use their soap for it to work as advertised. You also need to change the water filter in it when the water stops sheeting. It's pretty obvious when you're using it if it needs to be changed. No problems though because you'll get a whole summer's worth out of it when you're just washing a bike.
