Default Newest Addition to My '07 UltraClassic

While this is certianly not my original idea, I managed to throw this together in about an hour out in my shop tonight. While my wife and I were having our evening meal, she commented that it would be nice to have an ice chest carrying our water, green tea, and Diet Dr. Pepper for our road trip this weekend thru the mountians of Arkansas. It would save time and money if we carried the drinks with us. I do pull a trailer with an ice chest on the front when we take extended trips, but not for a weekend outing. I went to my shop and found a piece of 1" angle iron, 1 1/4" square tubing, and some aluminum tread plate. Just enough to fabricate an ice chest carrier. I made it to go into my receiver hitch and hold a "12 pak" cooler. Looks like it should work fine, we'll know after tomorrow. It does cover my rear tail/brake light, but I also have the turn/run/brake lite on the blinkers, plus my tour pak has run/brake lites, and my side rails have the lites in them, so I am not too worried about the one light being blocked. Quick and easy, if it works OK, I might re-do it really nice and paint it to match the bike when I have the time. PACO

Water, green tea, and Diet Dr. Pepper?

Great idea, but a few six packs sound much better

At one point in my life would have been inclined to agree whole heartedly with you, a twelve pak of Coors lite would have fit much better. But as age and various other things have crept up on me, I tend to lean more towards the diet drink, green tea, and water. Much better for you, but I'll be the first to admit, a cool brew now and again never hurt anyone. I now tend to lean towards Shiner Bock, my brew of choice.

Yes, us RedNecks down here in Arkansas sometimes ride Ultras, and soon as I get my stimulus check, I'm gonna buy me a new Screamin' Eagle Ultra....cuz I know it'll be enough to get at least one new one, maybe two....

Hey I'm a hillbilly too, (southern Ohio near Huntington,WV) Whats impressive to me is you did it in an hour, It would have taken me all day. Then it would have mounted off center and crooked.
