Going on a little 6300 mile road trip

You'll also want to ensure that your bike is in top running condition and make sure that you put new tires / brakes on her if they are even close to being needed. You don't want to mess with that on the trip. I would also recommend getting AAA Plus so that you can get your bike towed if you run into trouble (you could also get a HOG membership with towing). Bring some tools... basic open/closed wrenches and some hex wrenches.... i also brought electrical tape and a bunch of big zip ties. Also get yourself a good Cargo net so that you can put a bunch of your stuff behind you on the passenger seat... just put a bunch of **** into a black garbage bag and stuff it in the cargo net behind you. I used the cargo net for my sleeping bag, helmets when not using them (zip tie to net) and my camel pack. The camel pack will come in handy and you will use it more than you think... it gets freaking hot out west and you will dehydrate.

Got to cut the grass and I should be ready to go

My wife doesn't like me going without her but the trip we took to Daytona beach almost killed her. Besides if she did go I would have to get a trailer to carry all her stuff.

What day are you leaving? I'm heading out Wednesday as soon as I get off work. Trailering to Denver and then making a circle through Co, Ut, AZ and back to Denver....six days of riding and camping all but one night. Wish I had more time but that's all I can take off right now. Maybe I'll see you out west somewhere. Have fun and stay safe.

Anyway be nice to have someone to ride with. I hate getting lost alone

Herkdavis, you should also get yourself a gps if you don't have one. I used a Nuvi 205 that I waterproofed with electrical tape. Also used a ram mount to mount it to my handlebars. If you don't have a handlebar mount you could stick it to your windshield, but it will vibrate like a bitch while you are at idle!
Take your time and be careful ... the west roads are covered with Tar Snakes!!!
Talk with you soon, Ralph

Well I made it back yesterday and I have to say that was a amazing journey. I wish I would have done this trip sooner.I had good weather for most of the time but When I was in Yellow Stone Park I ran into snow. It was so bad at times that I had a hard time seeing the road. Things were looking bad but I found a lodge and stayed the night there. I'm working on the pictures and I'll have more details later.
