I have no idea, but good question. Maybe over-all length of muffler due to the underframe crossover on the '09s...???

The 09 bikes has an indent on the inside (toward the bike) of the muffler to clear the axle. Some just put a dent in the side of the muffler with a hammer. It can not be seen
I am using the 64895-07A muffler and they have the indent.

Huh, my '02 RKC had the 'indentations' on the original pipes as well as the V&H I bought. Sounds like a scam?

There has been several on here that has mentioned this but I have not seen it. I could be wrong it being hd mufflers and could be only after market types. My V&H does not have the indent .

Maybe the indentations are in different locations? Different lengths due to crossover...heck I have no idea.

How do the SE slip ons sound??

I am really pretty happy with the stock mufflers, but if I wanted just a leeetle more muscle to the tone without drowning out my stereo and fatigue on long rides, is there a SE slip on that would fit the bill?

Sorry for the hijack, but I figured you guys looking at this thread would know best.

Talking

We have a 09 Ultra and i just put on a set of SE mufflers made in the year 2000 and they fit perfect and sound really good. My dyno tune was about the same a the stock mufflers. Here are a couple of pictures of them.

I asked the same question, I was told that the indent is a little different on the 09's vs the 08 and back...larger axle nut...also said you can add a 1/2" spacer to the mounting bolts and clear any issues....

I did not have any clearance problems with the SE muffs. No indent and they clear the axle fine on our 09
