I'm happy to see all the positive responses to the ABS. At first I thought most replys would be anti ABS. This is a great feature. I saw to friends go down in front of me prior to buying my 08 SG with ABS. Neither accident was life threatening but I was profoundly effected by seeing what I call the "Death wobble" right in front of my own eyes. Sortly after these events, HD announced the ABS and I jumped on it instantly. I drive about 15,000 miles a year on the SG and I ride with much more confidence knowing I have the ABS. It kicked in only once since I bought the bike. Nothing serious but enough to confirm I made the right decision. Like others have said, I'll never buy a bike with out it. Well I did buy an 09 SE Fat Bob. But I wouldn't buy a tourer without it.

i'm the opposite. everyone raves on about how great the abs is. i'm glad for them. i feel that the best braking system begins in the riders brain. i just ride with my head out of my ***, and deal with what's around me. been riding since 67 licenced, and just don't feel the need for abs, nor an airbag like the goldwings got, thanks anyway. stopping on gravel, duh, pay attention, ice or show, keep it home. 750 bux? no wonder the salesmen are really pitching it. you gotta decide for you though.
