69th Sturgis Rally...who's going?
#91
A few of the brothers and I will be riding the entire way from San Diego, CA. This will finally be my first time at the rally. I've only been riding a little over a few years. I do ride to Yuma, Phoenix, Prescott, and Vegas on occasion. I've driven to Rushmore, but, never rode that far. Any tips on the ride and lodging in Sturgis? Some of the guys want to camp/stay in "something" Chip (Potato, Chocolate, Buffalo?) I think it's Buffalo Chip actually.
Anyways, what do ya'll think? The club can put up some cash, but, I prefer camping. We were also thinking about a chase vehicle, but, no one wants to drive it! As far as I know, no old ladies are coming...
I thought about renting a scoot, but, my '13 Wide Glide and I want to make our own memories. I would really like to get me a tall sissy bar to mount and roll my military sleeping system/bag and a small tent on, pack some clothes, snacks, and misc items in plastic bags in my saddle bags, and head out. I have a few weeks set aside. I plan on taking about three days to get there, four days+ to be there, and three days to get back. Possibly stopping in Vegas en route.
Any input fellas?

EDIT: I KNOW it's an old thread. I saw there were updates to it so I figured I'd put in my question and not clutter up the same question/topic with repetition.

LOL, so if I put it on eBay, how much would you bid?
My lady won't let it be shown in the house, so I use it for a floor mat for our Bunkhouse camper!
I think she burnt my 69th T-shirt, as I sure can't find it in my dresser drawer!

Because it comes up in Google. Mods should close the thread for responses. People should stop complaining about a response to an old thread. Besides, having an ongoing thread about a topic is nice. However, I figured people would complain and I started another thread.
