Why does this plug look so bad? (pic)

One more thing - Be sure to check your gap on any new plugs before you install them. My local dealer checks the gap on **almost** all the plugs before they sell. Had one that was too tight one time. Didn't look as bad as yours, but was indicating a rich condition. Re-gapped and good to go.
Almost forgot.... Nice pics

I just installed new HD Gold plugs. Gap was set at .40.
Started bike, sounds and runs fine. Tomorrow morning, I'll give it a hard ride, and check plug for early signs of trouble.
Maybe I'll call stealer and get it in there ASAP.

I've been an advanced amateur photographer for many years. Thank you.
Hehe....I'd say that I have a bit of a passion for the hobby
I kept all this stuff, because I enjoy teaching my children the various uses of different types of lenses. I usually let my daughter take the smaller camera, and I teach her how to use it. She absolutely loves photography, and at 9 years old, has already developed a keen eye for a photograph.

if you don't want to, or can't get the valve guide seals done right away, just keep your eye on your plugs and change them out when they get caked up. or in your case, move the rear one to the front, and put a new one in the rear, then repeat as necessary.
but use the autolite 4164. they run between 1.25 and 1.50. so no big deal to change them out often.

great pictures. but you gotta put some miles on it before your tires start cracking. honestly can't believe your bike has only a thousand miles per year. i bet it's pristine though. this is the first i heard about the 05 valve seal problem. got two friends i'll relay the information to. this forum is a veritable wealth of information. where else could we possibly get true information about our harley issues. i think the forum rocks. i've learned more here than in all the harley mags i've read and i got tons of them.

Hey Jim..How the heck are ya?
I switched over to Canon the day the D700 came out
IMHO, Nikon has a long way to go to catch up to Canon's "L" glass, but that Nikon D700 is a great camera. The D90 is great too.

I took the pictures with a Nikon D40. It's a 6mp baby of the other 2 cameras in the pic. Great starter camera for a beginner.
